Overfilled oil in 2008 Brute Force 650 what should I do?

I accidentally put too much oil in my 2008 Kawasaki Brute Force 650, and I only realized it after running the engine for a bit. What's the best way to handle this situation? Should I completely drain and refill, or is there a way to just let out the excess oil? I really want to steer clear of any long-term problems. I'd appreciate any tips from anyone who's dealt with this before

You've got a couple options, but yeah, best to deal with it sooner rather than later, you already ran the engine, so play it safe, easiest fix is to crack the drain bolt just enough to let out a bit at a time until the level reads right, mm...quite messy, but it works or you can use a suction pump through the dipstick tube

Happened to me once. A few years back, I overfilled my Brute Force 650 after a rushed oil change at camp. I ran it briefly before realizing, and luckily caught it before any damage.

Best move is yes, drain and refill completely. oo much oil can cause pressure buildup and push oil into the airbox, which leads to messy and costly issues.
