2008 Brute Force 750 is Sputtering After Water!

My dad's got a 2008 Kawasaki Brute Force 750 that's been giving him a real headache.

He actually sunk it about four months ago, it's snorkeled, rad relocated, got new tires, the works

He thought he fixed pretty much everything after that little swim.

But now, whenever he rides it through even the slightest bit of water, it starts sputtering and totally bogs down, almost like it's in limp mode.

It just craps out! He's already replaced the spark plug coils, wires, and even put in new spark plugs, but it's still doing it.

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this? It's driving him nuts! Any help would be awesome

Since you have already replaced the primary ignition parts with no change, the issue is almost certainly in your fuel system. The symptoms you describe are classic for water splashing up into the carburetor vent lines. When water blocks these lines it creates a vapor lock in the float bowls and starves the engine of fuel.
Are the carburetor vent tubes still in their stock location near the bottom of the frame? For water riding they should be re-routed up higher, often into the airbox or along the main snorkel tube.

Yeah, it happens. Even with new coils and plugs, moisture in the wiring harness or ECU connectors can cause sputtering and limp mode symptoms. I suggest you inspect and clean all electrical connectors with dielectric grease, especially around the ECU and throttle body. You can also check the belt sensor and reset the belt light if needed as it can trigger limp mode if tripped

Your dad's fixed" Brute Force is basically a ticking time bomb, submerged ATVs almost always have hidden electrical or ECU damage. Replacing plugs and coils won't cut it; until the electronics are fully inspected, water riding is just asking for more grief
